Private Equity – October 2020 Investment Trends

The trending private equity investment sectors for October 2020 are highlighted below with a few example transactions.

Food – Manufacturing

Arborview Capital invested in Soupergirl (Washington, D.C, US), a food company that crafts soups and gazpachos from seasonal and locally sourced ingredients in small batches.

Eurazeo Brands invested in Dewey’s Bakery (Winston-Salem, NC, US), a clean-label cookie and cracker manufacturer.

CORE Industrial Partners invested in J&K Ingredients (Paterson, NJ, US), a manufacturer of baked goods ingredients with an emphasis on natural, organic and clean label products.

Software

Featheringill Capital invested in InvestEdge (Bala Cynwyd, PA, US), a provider of compliance, portfolio management, and UMA accounting software solutions to large financial institutions.

Accel – KKR invested in Surgical Information Systems (Atlanta, GA, US), a provider of business and clinical surgical software solutions for the healthcare industry.

Cohesive Capital Partners invested in MBS Highway (Holmdel, NJ, US), a mortgage intelligence and sales effectiveness software platform.

Manufacturing – Industrial Products

Auxo Investment Partners invested in GC Dies (Elmhurst, IL, US), a steel rule die manufacturer.

Triton invested in RENK AG (Augsburg, Germany), a global manufacturer of high-quality automatic transmissions, gear units, slide bearings, suspension systems, couplings and test systems.

Tecum Capital invested in VfD Technologies (Bethlehem, PA, US), a manufacturer of technology-intensive products for a variety of end markets. The Company excels in high-complexity, high-tolerance machining for medical, automation and robotics, and transportation applications.

 

Additional Note: Even though Covid-19 significantly impacted manufacturing sectors, there were a number of private equity investments in manufacturing companies in addition to the “Industrial Products” sub-sector highlighted above. These include manufacturers of chemicals, electronics, food & beverage, medical, pharma and plastics.
