Private Equity – June 2021 Investment Trends

The trending private equity investment sectors for June 2021 were Healthcare Services, IT Solutions and Software Security.

We highlighted the sub-sector Software Security because there were multiple transactions in this segment. It’s worth noting that software companies, in general, represented 22% of private equity platform acquisitions in June.

Sample transactions are highlighted below.

Healthcare Services

KKR & Co. invested in Geode Health (Chicago, IL, US), a provider of outpatient mental health services to adults and children.

Clayton, Dubilier & Rice invested in Vera Whole Health (Seattle, WA, US), a provider of healthcare services to deliver comprehensive, intelligent primary care to employees via employer-funded worksite clinics.

Angeles Equity Partners invested in Xanitos (Newton Square, PA, US), a provider of hospital housekeeping, patient transport, and linen services to hospitals and other acute care settings.

IT Solutions

Apax Partners invested in Lutech (Milan, Italy), an IT services and solutions provider, delivering digital strategy definition, proprietary software, system integration and managed services.

Equistone Partners Europe invested in Timetoact Group (Cologne, Germany), an IT consultancy offering a range of digitalization and IT service solutions in the areas of digital workplace, process automation & optimization, business intelligence, identity & access management as well as customer experience.

Fort Point Capital invested in Strata Information Group (San Diego, CA, US), a provider of IT services to higher education institutions. The Company offers a range of services including software implementation, cloud migration, digital transformation, database administration and ongoing support services.

Software Security

High Street Capital invested in BCD International (Buffalo Grove, IL, US), a provider of video surveillance data storage appliances to security integrators, OEMs, and distributors around the world.

Thoma Bravo invested in Illumio (Sunnyvale, CA, ), a pioneer of Zero Trust Segmentation, stopping cybersecurity attacks. Illumio Core and Illumio Edge automate policy enforcement to stop cyberattacks and ransomware from spreading across applications, containers, clouds, data centers, and endpoints.

Technology Crossover Ventures invested in Trulioo (Vancouver, Canada), a global identity verification company.
